Pack | Essentials for rubbish free travelling

As much as possible, we must be prepared. We consume one time use plastics because of convenience. So if you pack properly, while travelling and on a daily basis, you can eliminate almost all one-time use plastics from your life.

While traveling, everyone needs to invest in a water filter bottle. My preference is the brand Grayl because it filters so fast, and I can fill up to 5 liters of drinking water up in less than 1 minute. In addition to this, I recommend a collapsible bottle or a thermal bottle to keep drinks the temperature you want them.

Pack as many tote bags that you have collected over the years in your house. Use them to separate clean clothes, dirty clothes, shoes, etc. And if you need an additional bag, you just empty it and use it as need.

Invest in a large collapsible bowl. It can be used for takeaway food, doing food prep for a flight, or if you need to wash anything small.

Switch to solid shampoos, conditioners, and body wash to not have to worry about carry-on bags and to minimise the space it takes up.

Bring electrolytes

And for anything else:

  • Say no to straws

  • Say no to plastic bags

  • Choose cans instead of plastic bottles, or even better, choose coconut water and fresh juices

  • Choose to eat real foods like fruits as snacks instead of bags of chips and packets of 2min noodles
